Art has definitely changed. I came into this class thinking art was just drawing but that had changed. Art is all around us, art is the building you see every day, the video game you play every afternoon, that sculpture in front of your dads work. Art is everywhere!
2. Regardless of a project was successful or not, which project did you learn, grow, or develop the most from?
The project that taught me the most was the charcoal project. The charcoal project taught me about how descriptive you can make a price with only black and white. Charcoal drawing are very broad and usually use a very few strokes but can get very specific if you make things blend with each other using s light source. Charcoal drawings taught me that a drawing can be very descriptive even with only a few shades.
3. What was the most difficult thing about this class? What could be done to resolve this issue?
The most difficult thing about this class was trying to become a better artist. I came into this class barely being able to draw a stickman. I was thinking that this class would just be a like a free class but it actually turned me into a better artist. This class taught me how to use delicate strokes and how to blend things together. Most important is that I came into this class rushing every project but I leave, looking at art as different pieces instead of as a whole.
4. What is a technique that you used in your art that worked well? Explain the technique and why it was successful?
Shading with a pencil worked well for me. My favorite tool in art is a pencil so or course I'm good at shading with it. Shading with a pencil is fairly easy because as long as you have a light source you can shade. The light source decides how much light and dark goes where so its kind of like a real life copy and paste.
5. Which project was the most successful? Describe the theme and or topic you went through to complete the project.
My most successful project a drawing I made called Pengapottamus. I merged a hippo and a penguin. This project was my most successful because I thought of the box and still did good. The topic was 2-in-1 so I decided to use 2 animals that were completely different. After I decided the animals I just merged the hippos big head and the penguins small body. It turned out very well.
